Midthunder belongs to the Fort Peck Assiniboine Tribe of Fort Peck. She was originally of the Navajo Nation of Shiprock in New Mexico. After spending most her childhood at Santa Fe (where she went to the Academy for Technology and the Classics and her mother worked for a casting house) after which she came to her home. Amber's dad is Native American, and they have both joined the Fort Peck Sioux Tribe. Amber's mother was adopted which means that Amber is not sure of her ancestral lineage. Prey stars a majority of Native American actors, such as Dakota Beavers (who is Blackfeet as well as Comanche) as well as Jhane Meiers, who has been advising the production for a number of years. Coco was chosen as Sarii due to her American Dingo breed. Carolina Dogs are one of oldest breeds.
There's a deeper message to this whole thing. Throughout the film TJ tells us how much he loves Amanda and how she's everything to him (although certain of the narration may be a reference to Amanda's daughter if we examine it more). He expresses his love for her but she rejected his offer down since she was dating Daniel. Jack later got married to Amanda after which Emily was later able to reveal Emily's persona. Since that time the two have been best buddies. In the finale the couple are getting wed. Amanda is able to kiss Wilf at midnight. The prize pot is won single handed
